A former reporter, newspaper editor, television assignment manager and freelancer writer, Mosher brings a wealth of experience to the communications staff at Sea Grant. In addition to her responsibilities for the overall planning and direction of the communications department, Mosher is the managing editor for the award winning Coastwatch magazine and serves on the North Carolina Sea Grant management team as an assistant director for the program.
She also pursues grants for a variety of communication project with Sea Grant partners. Recent grants include one from the National Sea Grant College Program to develop the Aquatic Invaders hands-on toolkit for educators at the 200-plus Association of Zoos and Aquariums member institutions. She also is responsible for securing a grant from the NC State Office of Extension, Engagement and Economic Development to develop Coastwatch on North Carolina Now pilot segments that aired on UNC-TV and received national honors.
Mosher's publications extend well beyond newspapers and magazines. She is the editor of a range of scientific and outreach publications, including Local Catch: North Carolina Seafood Availability cards, and Shifting Shorelines: A Pictorial Atlas of North Carolina Inlets. She also serves on the NOAA-U.S. Lifesaving Association Task Force on Rip Current Safety and is a former chair of the National Sea Grant Communications Network.
