Benjamin Young Landis, Science Communications Fellow, 2009-2010

As a science communications fellow, Ben Young Landis develops communications products for the N.C. Fishery Resource Grant Program and the N.C. Blue Crab and Shellfish Research Program. Landis holds a bachelor’s degree in evolution and ecology from University of California, Davis. He also completed a masters degree in environmental management from Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment. Prior to Sea Grant, Landis was a Mass Media Fellow with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and assigned to the Orange County Register, a major California newspaper.  Landis has also interned with the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions at Duke and he was an aquatic ecology researcher at UC Davis.
