Low Impact Development Basics for Water Quality Protection — Workshop for Realtors: Feb. 12
Feb. 12, 2013 — 8:45 a.m. - 1 p.m., NOAA-NERR Auditorium, 101 Pivers Island Road, Pivers Island, Beaufort.
The goal of this workshop is to introduce realtors to the interconnection between land use choices and water quality. Participants will learn about the major pollutants that degrade water quality; sources of these pollutants; and methods to prevent this degradation, including stormwater manageement practices and low impact development (LID). Participants will also hear from the NC Division of Water Quality regarding permitting issues. Dwane Jones, with the NC LID Group, will give detailed information on LID, as well as on the NC LID Certification Program.This is a FREE workshop! Registration is required.
Realtors will receive 4 elective continuing education credits from the NC Real Estate Commission. Please bring your NC Real Estate license to the course to receive credit.
