Green Roof Design Workshop: Feb. 12Feb. 12, 2013 — 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., McKimmon Conference and Training Center, NC State University campus, 1101 Gorman Street, Raleigh. Get directions. This technical workshop investigates design of extensive green roofs to achieve specific objectives for stormwater mitigation. You will be introduced to the proposed revisions to the NCDENR BMP Manual Green Roof Chapter. Attendees will become familiar with the functional aspects of various components of a green roof system, with particular attention to the substrate (growing media) specification, the role of plants, and plant selection for North Carolina. Learn how how to interpret laboratory testing outcomes in terms of field performance for stormwater management. Download the agenda. This workshop offers 5 PDHs (professional development hours) for professional engineers and surveyors, authorized by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors. CEUs are pending approval from the NC Board of Landscape Architects. Other professionals may appeal to their respective boards to obtain professional education credits. Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance at the conclusion of the workshop.
