The North Carolina Fishery Resource Grant Program (FRG) and Blue Crab and Shellfish Research Program (BCSRP) invite members of the fishing and research communities to submit proposals for funding in 2010. Proposals should include North Carolina citizens actively involved in commercial or recreational fishing, handling fish products, the charter boat industry, or aquaculture/mariculture.

The FRG application deadline is Nov. 16, 2009. The BCSRP deadline is Dec. 4. North Carolina Sea Grant administers both programs. For each deadline, email or hard-copy applications are due by 4 p.m. E-mail submissions should be sent to srebach@ncsu.edu. Or mail applications and support letters to: North Carolina Sea Grant, NCSU Box 8605, 1575 Varsity Drive, Module 1, Raleigh, NC 27695-8605.

Applicants must participate in a pre-submission conference with a North Carolina Sea Grant or N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries staff member — by phone, e-mail, a one-on-one meeting or participation in one of the workshops listed below. Marc Turano marc_turano@ncsu.edu, 919/513-0122 — is the contact for all six sessions.
